小勝是在國小六年級正式開始接觸西洋音樂

那時候因為很喜歡台灣的南方二重唱

而她們有一張全部都是西洋歌曲的專輯

從此開始愛上的60~70年代的西洋歌曲

一聽就是20年.........

這首歌在1972年問世

到現在已經40幾年了

但是在許多人心中這首歌很難被取代

作者跟演場者都是Albert Hammond

當時我跟很多人一樣一直以為南加州從不下雨

後來想想這真是個相當可愛的想法ORZ....

當然....南加州是會下雨的

Hammond取這歌名當然有其原因

因為他是英國倫敦人

倫敦的別名又叫"霧都"

所以嚕，對於嚮往陽光的人的移情作用之下

這首歌就誕生了

(PS.可是作者是在西班牙成長的唷)

歌曲的節奏很輕鬆明快

但是歌詞卻不是這樣

裡面道盡了生活的困苦

顛沛流離的餓肚子生活

為了成名而犧牲了許多等等的無奈

雖然Hammond後來在星路上不怎麼順遂

慢慢的轉向幕後推手

但是這首歌的經典地位應該是無庸置疑的

歌詞內容用字還算簡單

蠻適合剛入門西洋老歌的朋友
